Fluxes as sustainable concentrates for electronics production

Emil Otto's flux concentrates are of interest to customers who require large quantities of flux or manufacture abroad. All granulates can be transported without hazardous substance identification and in greatly reduced volumes.

A flux becomes a hazardous substance if it contains alcohol, among other things. The flux concentrates are free of this, as the customer mixes the alcohol or the alcohol/water mixture on site. Mixing the flux is very simple, as each concentrate comes with the necessary information on which liquid to add and in what dosage.

Furthermore, the granules can be packaged more simply and in smaller volumes, which also reduces transportation costs. Thanks to the transport optimizations, the flux concentrates can be transported over long distances in a very economically attractive way, as freight forwarders charge much lower costs for non-hazardous goods.

What are flux concentrates?

Flux concentrates from Emil Otto are specially formulated chemical mixtures that are supplied in concentrated form. They must be diluted before use to ensure the optimum solids content and correct activation in the soldering process. This flexibility means that flux concentrates offer numerous advantages over ready-made fluxes. Fluxes:

No dangerous goods

Concentrates do not constitute hazardous goods and therefore enable cost-reduced transportation and storage without environmental regulations.

Cost savings

Concentrates can be shipped in reduced volumes. This saves on transportation costs.

Greater process reliability

When diluted, concentrates ensure a stable and reliable soldering quality.

Process reliability

In terms of process reliability and stability, the diluted concentrates are in no way inferior to their inherently liquid counterparts.

Concentrates are more durable, as the shelf life aspect only becomes relevant after mixing.
