Both companies have many similarities in their corporate history, strongly influenced by German post-war history. On the one hand, there is the flux manufacturer Emil Otto GmbH, founded in Magdeburg, which arrived in Eltville in the 1960s after the turmoil of war and several relocations and was reunited with the original company in Magdeburg in 1991. On the other side is the traditional Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH, which had to make a new start after reunification in 1992. "It is not only the long history of both companies and the resulting knowledge and experience, but also the understanding of products and quality that distinguishes both companies," says Markus Geßner, Head of Marketing and Sales at Emil Otto GmbH.
At present, the Feinhütte Halsbrücke offers a wide range of different soft solders for all common applications. The product portfolio includes soft solders for standard temperature profiles as well as for the low and high temperature range. Great attention is paid to the quality of the solders. For example, only metals with a minimum purity of 99.9% are generally used for the production of lead-free soft solders. Customers can obtain ingot, bar and many other formats that can be used in all common wave, selective and hot-air tinning systems. Solder wires are also produced. These can be supplied in different thicknesses, as solid or flux-filled wire.
Both companies have agreed to include each other's products in their own product ranges. A joint product brochure is in the works. "As a manufacturing soldering company, Feinhütte Halsbrücke works according to the same principle as Emil Otto: quality is important and is maintained at a high level thanks to excellent raw materials and a high level of effort in research and product development. This is why we decided to enter into this partnership," explains Geßner. Tobias Patzig, authorized signatory of Feinhütte Halsbrücke, adds: "We have been working together for several years and are therefore aware of each other's qualities. We are convinced that we can generate high added value for our customers with our solders and the fluxes from Emil Otto."
