Emil Otto enters the production of hand sanitizers

On March 20, 2020, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) issued an exceptional approval for the manufacture of hand disinfectants. This means that the Hessian flux manufacturer can now also supply its hand disinfectants EO-HDC-001 and EO-EXO-CV to all public health facilities such as hospitals, doctors' surgeries, health centers, but also other care facilities and public care facilities such as town halls, health authorities, etc.

"The hand disinfectant EO-HDC-001 and the highly concentrated IPA/water cleaner EO-EXO-CV were originally developed for internal use. Thanks to the exceptional approval, we are now also allowed to supply them to professional users," explains Markus Geßner, Head of Marketing and Sales at Emil Otto GmbH. In addition to flux production, the Hessian family business will now also be ramping up production of the disinfectant. According to Geßner, the company will forego the usual margin surcharges. "In our view, it is wrong to view the production of these agents purely from an economic perspective. It is our duty as part of this society to make our contribution if we can help," says Geßner.

The disinfectant EO-HDC-001 consists of at least 70% isopropanol and glycerine. The product can be used to disinfect, clean and care for hands, has good skin compatibility and is supplied in 250 ml. Thanks to the high isopropanol content, safe cleaning is guaranteed. It is manufactured according to a pharmacy recipe. The cleaner EO-EXO-CV also contains a minimum proportion of 70% isopropanol and can also be used for hand disinfection. The cleaning of surfaces is also possible. The application is simple and residue-free, with a high cleaning effect and fast drying. It is supplied in a 500 ml pump spray bottle. It is also produced according to a pharmacy recipe.
