Emil Otto launches distribution for ESD products

Emil Otto GmbH is now offering products from the British manufacturer Edson Electronics. Manufactured in the UK, Electroguard antistatic paints have become a recognized, world-leading product in the fight against static. The chemical company Emil Otto is thus further expanding its product range for the electronics industry.

Edson Electronics offers two antistatic paints, Electroguard A40 and E30. Electroguard A40 is a water-based, static dissipative acrylic paint in a ready-to-use single can. The paint has been specially developed to protect against static electricity and is available in red, blue, green and light gray. Electroguard A40 is very easy to apply as the paint only needs to be stirred well. The paint is applied with a brush or roller and the accessories can be cleaned with warm water after use.

Electroguard A40 was developed especially for production areas that require safe, antistatic aisles and machine areas. Electroguard E30, on the other hand, is characterized by its high wear resistance and is particularly suitable for areas where heavy forklifts or pallet trucks are used for manoeuvring. The paint is therefore ideal for warehouses and areas used to prepare goods for dispatch.

Electroguard E30 is also a water-based, static dissipative polyurethane paint supplied in two sachets. The paint provides low cost, yet high specification protection against static build-up. Electroguard E30 should not be confused with more expensive multi-coating systems that require application by specialist suppliers. The paint is also applied with a brush or roller and the accessories can also be cleaned with warm water after use.

Electroguard E30 has excellent chemical resistance and is easy to clean. As a polyurethane paint, the color is very resistant and therefore only wears out to a small extent. The paint has an attractive matt sheen and is available in light gray.

Emil Otto also added the Statclear A50 coating to its product portfolio. This is a new permanently transparent, electrostatically dissipative coating that has been developed for use on smooth surfaces in electrostatic areas. Statclear A50 is a ready-to-use liquid that is easy to apply. Simply spraying on and wiping off is sufficient for permanent protection against electrostatic charging. The coating is also water-based and is therefore completely biodegradable.

Statclear A50 is particularly suitable for coating containers, trays, shelves, work surfaces, screens, glass surfaces and walls that can become electrostatically charged, as well as for packaging materials including bags for electrostatically sensitive materials. This means that the cost-intensive purchase of ESD-safe replacement products can be avoided. Thanks to its high level of safety, Statclear A50 is particularly suitable for use in cleanroom areas.
