"Both certifications are important for us as a company. However, the ISO 14001 environmental management standard is particularly important for us as a chemical company," explains Managing Director Barbara Geßner. The environmental management standard defines the requirements and framework conditions for an environmental management system. The standard includes life cycle assessments, environmental indicators and environmental performance assessments.
"Especially after the presentation of our ecological "Green Line" fluxes at the SMT, we as a manufacturer must set a good example. The immediate proximity of our site to the Rhine also requires careful handling of chemical products. ISO 14001 certification is therefore a set of standards that we are happy to follow," continues Geßner.
Equally important was the successful ISO 9001 recertification. ISO 9001 defines the requirements for quality management. "Our customers expect the highest quality and flexibility from us. We have built up a good reputation with these two characteristics. This makes it all the more important for us,
that an external certification body certifies that we are still on the right track," confirms Carlos Kelm, Sales Manager at Emil Otto GmbH.
