For Matthias Fehrenbach, Managing Partner of Eutect GmbH, this cooperation is a logical step in the development of his own company. "In recent years, we have seen steady growth in the area of process evaluation. As part of this activity, we test different selective soldering processes in order to solder customer-specific assemblies. The fluxes and solders naturally play a decisive role here, as our customers expect recommendations from us," says Fehrenbach, explaining this step.
Due to the cooperation agreed last year between the flux and cleaning agent manufacturer Emil Otto and the tin and lead smelter Feinhütte Halsbrücke, the two companies from Hesse and Saxony have increasingly become the focus of Fehrenbach's attention. "With these two partners, we can offer customers comprehensive advice on the best flux-solder combination. All cooperation partners manufacture their products themselves, which means that the customer receives first-hand technical information from a specialist. Together, we are also able to combine new solder alloys that are tailored to the customer's product with the right flux. This added value was convincing for me, because the customer gets everything from a single source," says Fehrenbach.
"The cooperation between the three companies is based on an open exchange of technology and maximum solution orientation," explains Markus Geßner, Head of Marketing and Sales at Emil Otto GmbH. This means that customers can access and request concentrated specialist knowledge, especially when it comes to soldering technology challenges. "No matter how much support the customer needs, we can develop targeted solutions for the customer and combine our knowledge with our technical capabilities. This can range from simple process optimization to the development of new fluxes, solders and soldering processes," explains Tobias Patzig, authorized signatory of Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH. The technical equipment and facilities of the three companies are also used for this purpose. Eutect GmbH's technical center, Emil Otto's chemical laboratory and Feinhütte's diagnostics in the area of solder bath management and solder bath analysis can be used for customer projects. Geßner adds that, from Emil Otto's point of view, it can only be an advantage to work with Eutect on the system side, as Eutect works very intensively on soldering processes beyond the standards due to its evaluation activities and thus always comes across new solutions. "I think that together we have a high potential for innovation here. Customers rarely find this bundled soldering expertise in this concentration on the market and we will be able to open completely new doors, especially for complex tasks," says Patzig.
