Emil Otto and Feinhütte – Cooperation of two excellent companies with tradition

Emil Otto GmbH and Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH will from now on support each other in sales and product development.

At present, Feinhütte Halsbrücke offers a wide range of different soft solders for all standard applications. The product portfolio includes soft solders for standard temperature profiles as well as for the low and high temperature range.

Thereby high attention is paid to the quality of the solders. Thus, only metals with a minimum purity of 99.9% are generally used for the production of lead-free soft solders. Customers can obtain ingots, bars and many other types of solder, which can be used in all common wave, selective and hot air tinning systems. In addition, solder wires are produced. These can be supplied in different thicknesses, as solid or flux-filled wire.

Wired and in shape

In addition to solid forms such as ingots or bars, Feinhütte Halsbrücke also designs, develops and manufactures a wide variety of different wires. Either as solid wire or cored solder wire.

The centuries-long history of Feinhütte Halsbrücke and the associated expertise has enabled the company to produce almost all soft solder alloys by extrusion.

Our own innovations and close cooperation with the actual customers as well as our own quality commitment formed the solid foundation of our success. For example, wire diameters ranging from 0.23mm for SMD soldering to extruded rods with a cross-section of up to 22.0mm are part of the portfolio.

And of course, both the alloys and the fluxes themselves are standardised throughout and always subject to the highest quality requirements.

Infinity Tubular solder with high-performance filling compound

The new, innovative tubular solder guarantees excellent soldering results from hand soldering to wave soldering and laser soldering. The tubular solder is filled with a halogenide-free high-performance filling compound, which was specially developed as a flux filling for the production of lead-free soft soldering. The basis of the filling compound is a high-purity synthetic resin, which is built up in combination with a hitherto unique synthetic activation complex and thus meets even the highest qualitative production requirements to the highest degree. The activation effect of the filling compound is more than equal to the halogenide-containing filling compounds used to date, even though the 3-seal tubular solders only have a flux content of 1.2 %.

Product selection for brazing alloys is made easier thanks to the online configurator

Feinhütte supports our customers with an online configurator to help them select products online. This configurator offers a large part of Feinhütte’s product range. The customers can choose from a wide range of applications, formats and alloys in the configurator. All desired or application-relevant parameters are checked and processed in logically structured stages. Then, the format specification is further refined. For example, when selecting a wire, the diameter can be chosen, the required flux, the filling quantity or the coil geometry and color can be selected. The data selected for the product configuration are collected at the end of the configuration and are then sent as a request. Depending on the sender’s request, technical advice is offered or an official quotation is prepared.

Recycling – the first step towards a 360° service

We also work together with Feinhütte in the field of taking back solder waste and metals. Feinhütte Halsbrücke GmbH uses the purchased materials to produce new solders for the electronics industry. The degrees of purity of the metal alloys recovered and refined during this process are predominantly higher than the degrees of purity of new materials from the initial smelting. Feinhütte has developed various cleaning processes to guarantee high quality. The repurchase of solders and metals is organised directly by Feinhütte. In this way, the customer can be offered a closed cycle, from repurchase to recycling, production and return of quality solders in various alloys and forms.
