The focus is on specially developed solar fluxes for TOPCon and heterojunction solar cells, cleaning media for solar modules and solders for reliable connections in module production.
With these solutions, Emil Otto supports key process steps in the production of solar cells and solar modules. The aim is to make manufacturing more efficient, reproducible and sustainable, and to ensure the long-term performance of photovoltaic systems.
Consumables for modern solar cell and module production
The manufacture of modern photovoltaic modules places high demands on the materials used. Particularly with innovative cell technologies such as TOPCon and heterojunction, soldering processes must be precise, gentle on the materials and reliable. This is precisely where Emil Otto comes in, with a portfolio specifically tailored to the solar industry.
The solutions for the photovoltaic industry include
- Solar flux for stable and durable solder connections
- Solar flux gels for precise applications in sensitive manufacturing processes
- Cleaning media to ensure efficiency and module performance
- Tubular solders for reliable connections in solar module production
The products are designed to meet the typical requirements of industrial production and support high process stability with gentle processing of sensitive solar cells.
Solar flux for TOPCon and heterojunction solar cells
A particular focus is on solar fluxes that have been specially developed for the production and connection of TOPCon and heterojunction solar cells. These cell types are particularly efficient, but react sensitively to thermal stress during production.
Emil Otto’s fluxes are alcohol-based and dry significantly faster than conventional products. This allows the preheating temperature in the process to be reduced. For TOPCon and heterojunction cells, this means lower thermal stress, which can have a positive effect on the cells’ longevity. At the same time, energy is saved during manufacture.
„The use of state-of-the-art fluxes is particularly important in the production of these two cell types. Our alcohol-based FD variants dry 10 times faster than conventionally used fluxes. As a result, a lower preheating temperature is required, which means that the TOPCon and heterojunction cells are exposed to less thermal stress. This improves the longevity of the solar cells and saves energy in their production.“

No Clean flux for clean and reproducible processes
Emil Otto’s solar fluxes are ‘no-clean’ fluxes that leave no sticky residue, ensuring a clean finish.
„Ultimately, this also protects the stringer modules, as less flux residue remains in them.“
Markus Geßner
Process tests carried out with leading machinery manufacturers in the solar cell production sector confirm the reliability and quality of Emil Otto’s flux products.
„Our fluxes therefore enable efficient, reliable and reproducible production and high-quality solar cells as the final product.“

Cleaning media for solar modules and photovoltaic systems
As well as manufacturing, cleaning also plays a crucial role in the performance of solar cells and photovoltaic systems. Emil Otto offers specialised cleaning agents for this purpose, which reliably remove contaminants such as salt deposits, limescale or organic residues from solar modules, thereby ensuring long-term efficiency.
Biodegradable cleaning products, such as the EO-SMC-001 to -004 SOLAR-MODUL-CLEANER range, have been specially developed for the effective cleaning of solar modules in natural environments. Thanks to their excellent wettability and flexibility, Emil Otto’s cleaners can be applied effortlessly by spraying, brushing or using automatic cleaning systems. All solar cleaners remove residues easily and reliably, ensuring that the efficiency of solar installations is not compromised. Even in challenging environments, such as agri-photovoltaic parks, these cleaning agents ensure reliable and effective cleaning. The cleaning products therefore not only simplify the maintenance of solar installations but also ensure long-lasting cleanliness without leaving behind any harmful residues.
„As a manufacturer of consumables for the solar industry, we help to increase the quality and efficiency of photovoltaic systems. The products we use support reliable connection technology and the sustainable use of modules. These are key factors for the global energy transition.“
Markus Geßner
