Increasing demand for flux GSP-2533/RX

The GSP-2533/RX is an alcohol-based no-clean flux developed for wave soldering. The activators consist of di-carboxylic acids with synthetic resins. "Partial sales were achieved via one of our sales partners, who in our view completely unexpectedly removed the flux from their range," says Markus Geßner, Marketing and Sales Manager at Emil Otto GmbH. The initial anger about this step was quickly followed by a positive surprise, as demand for the flux increased noticeably. "Many consumers started looking for the flux and found their way to the actual manufacturer via our website. We will of course continue to produce, fill and offer the GSP-2533/RX and thus guarantee the long-term security of supply for our customers," assures Geßner.

Regardless of the respective system type, the GSP-2533/RX achieves very good soldering results in terms of penetration and wetting. "We have had the flux in our range for a very long time and have no plans to stop producing it, as it has proven itself on the market. The flux has set standards as part of the changeover to lead-free soldering," explains Geßner. The process window is wide, with very high thermal stability and good process activity over a long time interval. The cleanliness is also very good. The GSP-2533/RX is suitable as a wave soldering flux for foam and spray fluxing and can therefore also be used in older systems. The minimum shelf life is 6 months. In practice, it has been shown that, if used correctly, washing of printed circuit boards soldered with this flux can be largely dispensed with.

The GSP-2533/RX is offered by Emil Otto in various container sizes. From drums to 20, 10, 5 and 1 l containers, all purchase quantities are available. "No user of the GSP-2533/RX has to switch to a different flux. We are flexible when it comes to purchase quantities and can also offer the flux as a concentrate. From a technical point of view, a change is also unnecessary, as the flux is state-of-the-art," says Geßner. However, if a company is considering a general change of flux due to the withdrawal of a sales partner, Emil Otto GmbH will be happy to provide advice and present alternatives from its extensive portfolio.
